Mary as a Therapist

My interest in counselling/therapy began during my marriage to Graham and following the birth of our two children in the early 1970’s.    Firstly I became involved with the National Childbirth Trust, and, a few years later with the Samaritans.   This interest in voluntary work continued until the early 80’s when I was given the opportunity of working full time with young people in a Tertiary College.

I remained there until my retirement in 2005 at which time I had two distinct but overlapping roles as Senior Counsellor and Course Leader/Lecturer on certificate and Diploma Counselling Courses.

The mid 90’s, following my divorce, saw a big change in my life and I devoted a great deal of time exploring alternative therapies in order to obtain further skills to help those people suffering from the pressures of every-day life.    I planned to use all of these skills during my retirement years when I had visions of living on the south coast of England.   This has not yet been realised!   Instead I am spending my time between the south coast of Greece and the east Midlands of England.
